Do I need to buy all the modules at a time?
How many modules an organization should buy at a time completely depends on the organizational demands. Organizations must have to decide the priority of their needs first to understand the demands. Several organizations thought the organizational efficiency would be much better if they chose all the modules at a time but in reality that is not actually. Deciding the number of modules should be related with some core points of an organization as organizational resources, organizations time, organizations priority, area of implementation, organizations budget, and lots of other points included.
Analyzing the organization's priority directly related with the organization's demand. Based on the present state of an organization, they can decide in which area an organization wants to digitize first as financial area, supply chain area, production area, etc. Here, resources are an important fact for the implementation of specific modules. If an organization can not provide the highest number of resources to the implementation team, it will be quite tough to give the best with accurate data and information.
Let's say an organization shows their interest to develop the financial area with a financial management module. Here, if the technical team does not have the proper resources of the organization's previous data, operational strategy, transaction strategy, then the implementation might not maintain the highest standard because of resource lackings.
We know time is money, so time is playing the most important role in terms of implementation. How many modules an organization should take also depends on how much time an organization will spend on the implementation. Shortage of time can be the cause of implementation failure. Organization must have to allow the effective time period based on the implementation criteria. Rather than that, how much cost an organization could bear decides the number of modules they can ask for at a time. Implementation of all the modules at a time will be cost effective and highly time consuming. So, organizations can implement one by one or more than one module at the same time based on their priority list. Time and budget booths are paralally important for the implementation of ERP modules.
The IT system is the backbone of an organization while converting a manual operational system into a digital one. Without having a proper IT specialist team, an organization will be unable to adapt the latest features and functionalities of the modules. Before deciding how many modules an organization wants to implement, they must have to acknowledge their IT backup and how much capacity they have to adapt the technology. Here, another important thing is to fulfill the training requirement. If an organization takes three modules at a time, they must have to train their employees about these three modules' usability while fulfilling the training requirements. Otherwise due to lack of technical knowledge, employees will be unable to properly use the modules in their operation. Before choosing the modules, organizations have to think about their ability and training requirements.
According to the above discussion, choosing the number of modules depends on several criteria of an organization. From the business perspective, the better way is to implement the modules step by step. This way can make the operation smoother for the organization and technical team both.
